Position Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering clinical training and educational programs aimed at ensuring safe and effective practices among both registered and non-registered nursing personnel. This role involves collaborating within the department to foster a skilled workforce capable of providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare services while also demonstrating leadership and organizational skills.
The post holder will actively engage in promoting inter-professional learning initiatives throughout the Trust and serve as a model for exemplary nursing practices. They will identify and advocate for evidence-based nursing practices within the Emergency Department by implementing and facilitating clinically relevant teaching and education, ensuring that staff possess the essential skills and knowledge to perform their duties competently. Responsibilities include assessing clinical competencies and maintaining comprehensive training records, as well as integrating theoretical instruction, clinical skills evaluation, and the development of personalized growth plans.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Advanced Clinical Educator and Senior Practice Development Nurse to deliver clinical skills training and educational programs.
- Implement research-driven guidelines and protocols to enhance nursing service delivery and the quality of care.
- Work closely with Senior Sisters and Charge Nurses to monitor the performance of staff members, providing additional support and supervision as needed.
- Identify, plan, and coordinate educational and professional development needs for students, new hires, and existing staff within the emergency care division.
- Enhance clinical knowledge and skills through approved learning and assessment methodologies.
- Support the Trust Nursing Strategy groups and Clinical Governance initiatives related to emergency care, ensuring cohesive collaboration within the specialty.
- Foster an environment conducive to practice development.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by management, reflecting the needs of the service.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
- First-level registered nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK) registration.
- Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor or equivalent qualifications.
- Immediate Life Support certification.
- Level 1 Trauma Course (TILS) completion.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master's degree or willingness to pursue Level 7 studies.
- Teaching and Assessing qualification.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
