Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Theatre Practitioner Nurse/ODP to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will provide clinical support and education to patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support and teaching to all relevant personnel within the specialist area.
  • Provide technical and clinical advice to relevant colleagues in the perioperative setting.
  • Provide information and support to patients having anaesthesia/surgery.
  • Assist in the development of safe and high-quality specialist patient care and work within the guidelines of the Trust Nursing and Midwifery Strategy.
  • Complete an orientation programme to the clinical area in accordance with the Trust's induction programme and achieve perioperative competencies.
  • Assist in the development of the perioperative services and work collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental goals.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of working in an operating theatre.
  • NMC/HCPC registration.

Desirable Criteria

  • Theatre/Recovery/HDU qualification.
  • Anaesthetic qualification.
