About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Theatre Practitioner to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a Band 6 Theatre Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of anaesthetic care and patient safety.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and managerial support to the Team Leader, ensuring smooth and effective theatre operations.
- Lead by example, offering clinical leadership, guidance, and teaching to all relevant staff within your specialist area.
- Provide expert technical and clinical advice to colleagues within the peri-operative environment, enhancing the quality of care provided.
- Support and inform patients undergoing anaesthesia and surgery, ensuring their experience is as comfortable and safe as possible.
- Assist in the development of safe, high-quality specialist care, adhering to the Trust's Nursing & Midwifery guidelines, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.
Person Specification
- Professional Registration with the NMC/HCPC.
- Dual Trained Scrub and Anaesthetics.
- Post-qualification theatre experience.
- Teaching and Assessing Practice Assessor or working towards it (desirable).
- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
