We are seeking a highly skilled Theatre Practitioner Nurse/ODP to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will provide clinical support and education to our staff, patients, and families.
Main Responsibilities- Provide clinical support and education to all relevant personnel within the specialist area.
- Assist in the development of safe and high-quality patient care, working within the guidelines of the Trust's Nursing and Midwifery Strategy.
- Complete an orientation program to the clinical area, achieving perioperative competencies, and participate in mandatory training sessions as required.
- Effectively communicate with all disciplines, patients, and relatives, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
- Assist the Team Leader in leading a multidisciplinary team under pressure, including emergency situations, and ensure the security of the working area.
- Attend routine departmental meetings and ensure adequate stock levels of consumables are maintained.
Essential Criteria
- Experience of working in an operating theatre.
- NMC/HCPC registration.
Desirable Criteria
- Theatre/Recovery/HDU qualification.
- Anaesthetic Qualification.
