Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a Clinical Trials Administrative Support Specialist. The successful candidate will be integrated within the Research and Innovation department, contributing to the administrative team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHSFT.

This role is designed to provide comprehensive training and development in Business Administration, with the opportunity to achieve a Level 3 qualification upon successful completion of the program.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be employed and supervised by The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre (CCC), providing essential support for both Commercial and non-Commercial clinical trials. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering comprehensive clinical and administrative assistance to Research Practitioners.
  • Coordinating with various Trust departments and acquiring medical documentation from external Trusts and General Practitioners.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in IT and time management are essential. The Research and Innovation Directorate operates in a fast-paced environment where meeting deadlines amidst frequent interruptions is common. The ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks is crucial.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Good standard of education, minimum GCSE level, or relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong keyboard skills.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • GCP certification.
  • Background in a science-related subject at GCSE level.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and experience in a research environment.
  • Knowledge of hospital administrative systems.
