We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Therapy Assistant to join our Stroke ESD Team at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients with neurological conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Support the smooth running of the Therapy team by performing a range of clinical, administrative, and departmental tasks.
- Deliver treatment plans and activities, as delegated by the Team Leader, to progress patients within agreed parameters.
- Work with Therapists to ensure delivery of patient-centered care and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Be responsible and accountable for the quality and standard of own work, achieving the levels of competency required by the role.
- Help patients continue with their treatment programs and therapeutic activities, as delegated by a qualified Therapist.
- Manage a delegated workload effectively, with support and guidance from the Therapist.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Relevant level 3 NVQ or equivalent level of experiential knowledge and experience in an appropriate area.
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a related healthcare setting.
- Basic understanding of infection control and safe practices.
- Training, knowledge, and understanding of a range of appropriate work-related skills, including moving and handling, exercise techniques, normal movement, balance, relaxed breathing, spirometry, oxygen therapy, use of inhaler medications, relaxation, etc.
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
- Computer literacy, able to use hospital computer systems, and to use databases for audit following appropriate training.
- Ability to show initiative and manage own workload, but to seek advice when appropriate.
- Base level of theoretical knowledge of various conditions to undertake designated patient activities safely and effectively.
- Professional in appearance and behavior.
- Flexible and adaptable, empathetic, and supportive.
