Job Title: Finance Assistant

Our client, a leading international organisation, is seeking a highly skilled Finance Assistant to join their team in Co Durham. As a key member of the finance team, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and Assistant FC to ensure the smooth operation of the Sales Ledger and credit control functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively collect company debts and maintain effective relationships with customers.
  • Raise, investigate, and resolve customer invoice queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure credit control procedures are adhered to, and credit risk reports are run regularly.
  • Record and accurately allocate cash, and reconcile open items on a regular basis.
  • Send regular customer statements and produce daily invoices and credit notes.
  • Produce and issue manual credit and debit notes, ensuring appropriate approval.
  • Provide credit control information to management as required.
  • Maintain and reconcile the Site Sales Ledger, and control and reconcile Self Billing Customers.
  • Support in customer invoicing portals, ensuring invoice rejections are dealt with promptly.
  • Ensure correct documentation is received regarding the opening of new accounts, and run credit risk reports to include a pre-meeting enquiry form.
  • Attend sales and operational meetings on new customer set up.
  • Process Intercompany recharges, ensuring completeness and balancing Intercompany Accounts.
What You'll Need:
  • A strong understanding of credit control procedures and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP, US GAAP, and SOX would be beneficial but not essential.
