Position Overview:

We are seeking qualified educators for a specialized secondary institution dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

This institution caters to individuals with a variety of special requirements, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) alongside complex needs. Our approach is holistic, focusing on fostering confidence, resilience, and high aspirations among our learners to ensure they lead fulfilling lives.

Location: Luton

Compensation: £110 - £160 per day

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm (Flexible hours available)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with students to address their unique learning requirements.
  • Implement a tailored curriculum for mixed-age classes with varying abilities.
  • Assist pupils facing communication and interaction challenges, as well as moderate learning difficulties.
  • Identify and address individual needs related to language comprehension, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the diverse abilities and complexities of students across different subjects.
  • Provide support for students with medical conditions or physical limitations.
  • Maintain a constructive and positive classroom environment while managing student behavior.
  • Effectively de-escalate challenging situations in accordance with safeguarding protocols.
  • Collect and return student work appropriately at the end of lessons.
  • Report safeguarding concerns following the institution's established procedures.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a secondary SEN educator who possesses:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • Experience in a UK secondary educational setting.
  • A background in working with children in special educational environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to enhancing students' educational experiences.
  • A proactive approach to professional development within a collaborative educational framework.
  • Positive attitude and initiative in overcoming challenges.
  • Ability to execute pre-set work to a high standard.
