A specialized secondary institution is looking for qualified educators to assist students with various special educational requirements, including profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning challenges, autism spectrum disorders, and complex needs. The institution adopts a comprehensive approach, collaborating closely with students and their families to empower learners with confidence, essential skills, resilience, and high aspirations.

Position Overview:

  • Location: Luton
  • Salary: £110 - £160 per day
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm (Flexible hours may be considered)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage closely with students to address their educational needs
  • Implement a tailored curriculum for mixed-age classes and varying abilities
  • Support pupils facing communication and interaction challenges
  • Address individual needs related to language understanding, writing, organization, and other learning obstacles
  • Adapt to the diverse range of abilities and complexities presented by students
  • Manage student behavior to foster a positive educational environment
  • De-escalate classroom situations and adhere to safeguarding protocols
  • Report any safeguarding issues following the institution's referral procedures

Qualifications:

  • QTS or PGCE Certification
  • Experience in a UK secondary educational setting
  • Prior experience working with children in specialized educational environments
