Overview:

GSL Education is seeking to recruit several skilled Special Educational Needs Support Assistants for our partner institutions in Watford. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with special educational needs.

As a Special Educational Needs Support Assistant, you will be expected to:

  • Have a minimum of one year of experience in providing support to individuals with special educational needs in educational or care environments;
  • Exhibit dedication and motivation as an educator;
  • Assist students facing emotional and behavioral challenges to help them engage with the curriculum;
  • Show high levels of care, concern, and ambition for the students' success;
  • Possess relevant skills to cater to a diverse student body, including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs;
  • Be a collaborative team member with a positive attitude;
  • Commit to enhancing student achievement and progress;
  • Provide support to SEN students through individualized and small group activities;
  • Have experience in assessing and reporting on student progress.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Be energetic and patient with effective classroom management abilities;
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK;
  • Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one;
  • Provide two professional references from educational settings.
