Role Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Practice Educator to join our established team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with a minimum commitment of three days per week.

As a Practice Educator, you will:

  • Lead the development of practice aligned with current research, policies, and legislation.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Practitioners to foster a service-oriented learning culture.
  • Engage in direct practice with children and young people to exemplify professional capabilities and practical application of learning.
  • Facilitate and assess the learning of others, including managing students in qualifying programs and supporting professionals in their continuous professional development.
  • Enhance workplace learning by effectively managing the collaboration between educational providers and workplace settings.
  • Contribute to contemporary research and educational methodologies.
  • Advise on the Career and Qualification Pathway for social workers and trainees.
  • Participate in the recruitment and evaluation of workforce strategies.

To qualify for this role, you must possess a Social Work Degree, a Social Work Qualification (Dip.SW or equivalent), and be registered with Social Work England. Additionally, you should hold or be pursuing the Practice Teaching Award or an equivalent qualification, along with experience in supporting social work students and newly qualified social workers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in a social care environment.
  • Proven professional capability in accordance with the Professional Capabilities Framework.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective relationship building.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and theories in children's social work.
  • Experience in providing practice education within the Practice Education Professional Standards.
  • Experience in supporting social work students and newly qualified social workers.

If your background includes experience in other sectors, such as Adult Social Care or the Voluntary sector, we offer additional support to transition into children's social work through a structured induction process.
