Role Overview:

We are seeking a Practice Educator to enhance our established team within the Foundation for Practice. Opportunities for both full-time and part-time positions are available, with a minimum commitment of three days per week.

As a Practice Educator, you will be a professional with specialized knowledge in social work education, leading initiatives that align with contemporary research, policy, and legislative frameworks. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving practice development in collaboration with Advanced Practitioners.
  • Engaging in direct practice with children and young people to exemplify professional capabilities.
  • Facilitating and assessing the learning and growth of students and newly qualified social workers.
  • Managing the integration of educational providers with workplace learning environments.
  • Contributing to contemporary research and educational practices.
  • Advising on career pathways for social workers and trainees.
  • Participating in recruitment and evaluation processes.

To qualify for this role, you must hold a Social Work Degree or equivalent qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Additionally, you should be pursuing or have obtained the Practice Teaching Award or its equivalent, along with experience in supporting social work students and newly qualified professionals.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in a social care setting.
  • Demonstrated professional capability as per the Professional Capabilities Framework.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and professionals.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and theories in children's social work.
  • Experience in practice education and adherence to Practice Education Professional Standards.
