Youth Support Specialist - Day or Night Shifts Available

About the Role:

The Lighthouse is a specialized residential facility catering to young individuals aged 13 to 18 who face complex mental health challenges and associated risk behaviors. Our dedicated team is integral to the therapeutic and care services provided by the Priory health division.

Our location is conveniently situated within walking distance from the town center, ensuring easy access via major public transport routes. We offer flexible working hours, including:

  • Day Team Shift Pattern: Early Shift (6:30 AM – 2:30 PM), Late Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM), Long Day (7:00 AM – 10:00 PM)
  • Night Team: Waking Night (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Our mission at The Lighthouse is to provide young people with a nurturing residential experience in a therapeutic and homely setting. Care is personalized to meet individual needs, ensuring the best possible outcomes for their future.

Key Responsibilities:

You will oversee the well-being of our young residents, who exhibit a variety of behaviors linked to their mental health and past traumas. Your role will involve engaging them in activities, supporting their daily routines, and ensuring their educational requirements are fulfilled.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A positive and proactive attitude
  • Previous experience in care is advantageous but not mandatory
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and resilience

We offer a competitive salary starting at £13 per hour, which increases to £13.50 per hour upon successful completion of the Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner qualification in Residential Childcare.
