Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Patient Care Support Specialist to become a vital member of our skilled nursing team.
This position entails a commitment of 18 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will assist the clinical team in providing safe, effective, and high-quality healthcare services to our patient community. You will perform routine patient care under the guidance of the nursing staff, managing your own scheduled clinics.
Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:
- Conducting NHS Health Checks
- Performing ECG Recordings
- Carrying out Phlebotomy
- Providing Diabetes Foot Care
- Executing Ear Syringing
- Undertaking Chaperoning Duties
- Administering Flu and Pneumococcal Vaccinations
- Delivering B12 injections
- Taking Blood Pressure readings and ABPM
- Collecting, processing, and managing laboratory samples as requested by GPs/Nurses
- Organizing the sterilization, cleaning, and upkeep of surgical instruments
- Monitoring and recording vaccine/cold chain storage
- Restocking and rotating surgical supplies and vaccines
- Tidying and restocking consultation rooms
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs with minor procedures
- Aiding in the assessment and monitoring of patients' health and well-being
- Performing specific clinical tasks for designated patients that have been delegated and taught specifically for that individual, including dressings, four-layer bandaging, and suture/clip removal.

Job Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Practice Nurse Lead and in strict adherence to established practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in delivering safe, high-quality primary care services to our patient population. You will operate within defined parameters following appropriate training and competency assessment. You will manage your own scheduled patient care.
Your approach will be compassionate and caring, with excellent and adaptable communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of patients and clinical scenarios.
