Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement youth participation strategies that engage young people in social action and decision-making.
- Lead the service, championing the voice of children and young people, and ensuring their views, experiences, opinions, and interests are considered.
- Build strong relationships with young people, partners, and stakeholders to promote youth participation and engagement.
- Supervise young people at youth centres and other locations, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Manage case records using a management information system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to build a comprehensive youth participation strategy that meets the needs of young people.
- Promote youth engagement activities and events, ensuring maximum participation and inclusivity.
- Experience in face-to-face youth work in a variety of settings, including community-based services and national programmes.
- Experience leading participation using different tools, techniques, and approaches, including group work and inclusive engagement activities.
- Experience supporting young people's voices and influence in decisions that affect their lives, individually and in their communities.
- Experience managing safe youth work practice, including safeguarding procedures and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of the National Participation Standards and the UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child).
- A recognized qualification in Youth and Community Work at a minimum of Level 3.
