We are seeking a Sustainability and Ethics Manager to join our Social Impact & Health team. This position provides a unique opportunity to influence our sustainability and ethics strategies, creating a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.

About the Position

The role of Sustainability and Ethics Manager is pivotal to our core values at John Lewis Partnership. You will be responsible for advancing our sustainability and ethics initiatives across our esteemed brands. Your work will focus on implementing our Social Impact & Health action plan, driving positive change for our customers, partners, and local communities. Additionally, your role will involve collaborating with external partners to enhance the effectiveness of our initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Co-develop and oversee the social impact and health action plan, including impact assessment methodologies and result communications.
  • Champion a high-quality social impact program across local communities.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution and visibility of social impact efforts.
  • Manage partnerships with charitable organizations, fostering strong relationships and achieving fundraising goals.
  • Lead programs that promote the health and well-being of customers and communities, conducting impact evaluations and improvements.
  • Participate in relevant committees focused on building a brighter future.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards in all charitable and community engagements.
  • Oversee reporting, impact measurement, and budget management.
  • Supervise a small team of direct reports.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in executing social impact programs with varied stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong stakeholder management and organizational capabilities
  • Genuine passion for sustainability and ethics, particularly in social impact and health

  • Experience in managing teams
