Role Summary:

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a full-time Clinical Research Specialist within the Patient Recruitment Centre. This role is integral to the Bradford Teaching Hospitals and offers a unique chance to enhance your expertise in respiratory clinical research.

The successful candidate will collaborate within the PRC, overseeing and facilitating clinical research trial portfolios as needed. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent organizational abilities, are essential. The role may require travel between various sites.

This position entails close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and involves the meticulous collection and documentation of data. Responsibilities will encompass all facets of clinical trials, including phlebotomy, ECGs, patient observations, and history taking, as well as assessing and managing care pathways for patients and their families, providing education and support, and acting as their advocate.

Additionally, the role includes educating patients and training relevant healthcare professionals on trial protocols.

Completion of GCP training is necessary. Strong communication skills and meticulous record-keeping are imperative.

Person Specification:

Experience:

Essential:

  • Demonstrable recent nursing experience, either as a student or a qualified nurse.

Desirable:

  • Experience in audit or project management.

Skills:

Essential:

  • Phlebotomy skills.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including time management and resource management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of participants.

Knowledge:

Desirable:

  • Understanding of research processes.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse - Level 1.
  • Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience.

Desirable:

  • Teaching or mentoring qualifications.
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.

Other Requirements:

Essential:

  • Responsible for ongoing education to meet NMC Revalidation and NIHR CRN requirements.
  • Able to work in various locations as needed and manage the physical demands of the role, including prolonged computer work and phlebotomy.

Desirable:

  • Current driving license and access to a vehicle for home visits as necessary.
