Position Overview

We are pleased to present a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Clinical Technology Specialist to become a vital member of our collaborative team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role is integral to our Clinical Physics service, which caters to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in specialized Clinical Physics assessments, focusing on urodynamics and manometry procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting urodynamics and manometry tests utilizing advanced medical technology.
  • Analyzing test results and preparing comprehensive clinical reports for referring clinicians.
  • Working autonomously while maintaining close collaboration with urology and radiology teams.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.

Daily Duties

The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including:

  • Performing clinical procedures with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
  • Responding to urgent requests and adapting to the dynamic needs of the service.
  • Potentially rotating through other clinical services within the Medical Physics Department.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in executing clinical physics procedures.
  • Extensive background in urodynamics and manometry investigations.
  • Experience in patient care as a nurse, clinical technologist, or radiographer.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with graph interpretation and physiological measurement reporting.

Skills Required

Essential:

  • Competence in patient catheterization and history taking.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients undergoing sensitive procedures.
  • Ability to perform complex clinical tasks independently.
  • Capability to convey intricate information to various healthcare professionals.

Knowledge Base

Essential:

  • Understanding of Information Governance and confidentiality protocols.
  • Significant experience in a urology-focused environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of the renal system and its functions.

Educational Background

Essential:

  • A degree-level qualification or higher with a substantial healthcare component, particularly in urological procedures. Other relevant qualifications will be considered if accompanied by significant Clinical Physics or Urological experience.
