Role Summary:

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a full-time Clinical Research Nurse within the Patient Recruitment Centre. This role is an integral part of Bradford Teaching Hospitals, offering a unique chance to enhance your expertise and experience in the field of respiratory clinical research.

The successful candidate will collaborate within the Patient Recruitment Centre, overseeing and supporting various clinical research trial portfolios as needed. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent organizational abilities, are essential. Willingness to travel between different sites may be required.

This position entails close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and includes the collection and meticulous documentation of accurate data. The role encompasses all facets of clinical trials, such as phlebotomy, ECGs, patient observations, and history taking, while also assessing and managing the care pathways of patients and their caregivers. Educating and supporting patients, as well as acting as their advocate, is a fundamental aspect of this role.

Additionally, the position involves training patients and relevant healthcare professionals on trial protocols.

Main Responsibilities:

Completion of GCP training is necessary. Strong communication skills and exceptional record-keeping abilities are required.

Person Specification:

Experience:

Essential:

  • Recent nursing experience, either as a student or a qualified nurse.

Desirable:

  • Experience in audit or project management.

Skills:

Essential:

  • Phlebotomy skills.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including time management and resource management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to engage with a diverse range of participants.

Knowledge:

Desirable:

  • Understanding of research methodologies.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse - Level 1.
  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience.

Desirable:

  • Teaching or mentoring qualifications.
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.

Other Requirements:

Essential:

  • Responsible for ongoing professional development to meet NMC Revalidation and NIHR CRN requirements.
  • Able to work across various locations as needed and manage the physical demands of the role, including prolonged computer use and phlebotomy.

Desirable:

  • Current driving license and access to a vehicle for home visits as necessary.
