Islington Council is seeking a dedicated SEND Operations Deputy Manager to join our team in Islington.
As part of our SEND Team, you will play a vital role in managing the statutory Education, Health and Care needs assessment, review, and placement processes for young individuals with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct oversight and management to a small group of young individuals with complex needs.
- Ensure the highest quality assurance standards are met for all Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Act as the primary point of contact between our SEND Team and the Virtual School for Children Looked After.
- Serve as the SEND liaison for commissioning functions within the council.
- Provide effective line management to a team of SEN Keyworkers, guiding their work and supporting their professional development.
- Offer expert guidance and support to colleagues on the legal framework governing children with EHCPs.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a degree-level education or equivalent relevant professional qualification/experience.
- Has significant experience working within Local Authority SEND departments.
- Demonstrates proven success in line management and resolving complex cases effectively.
- Has a strong track record of building successful relationships with partners from various sectors.
- Is driven and ambitious, with a commitment to achieving challenging targets and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
