Job Title: Senior Practitioner - Pre 16 EHC Assessment Team

Overview:
As a Senior Practitioner within the Pre 16 EHC Assessment Team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing intricate case management and leading locality teams to ensure effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take charge of complex casework while supervising locality teams.
  • Act as the representative for the local authority during First-tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability) proceedings and address complaints as necessary.
  • Assist the Service Manager and Team Manager in implementing service enhancements.
  • Conduct quality assurance on EHC plans to ensure they accurately reflect assessed needs and achievable outcomes.
  • Promote collaborative efforts among Education, Health, and Social Care teams.
Essential Qualifications:
  • In-depth understanding of pertinent legislation.
  • Proven experience in drafting responses to EHC Appeals and representing cases at Tribunal hearings.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young individuals and their parents/carers.
  • Experience in staff management and supporting team members to meet deadlines.
  • A genuine passion for enhancing services for young people with additional needs.
