About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEN Coordinator to join our team at Teaching Vacancies. As a SEN Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to support children with SEND, in collaboration with teachers, support staff, and external agencies.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to ensure that their child's needs are met and that they are fully involved in the decision-making process.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as occupational therapists, speech therapists, and educational psychologists, to provide a comprehensive support package for children with SEND.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Provide training and support to staff on SEN-related issues, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support children with SEND.
Requirements
  • Hold a National Award for SEN Coordination or be willing to complete the SEN NPQ within 3 years of appointment.
  • Have substantial and successful teaching experience in the Early Years age range, demonstrating a commitment to Early Years achievement.
  • Have a proven track record of supporting children with SEND.
  • Have experience of working with internal and external stakeholders in relation to statutory requirements with SEND pupils.
  • Hold Designated Safeguarding Officer training or be willing to have this training in order to be a Deputy DSO.
