Position - Project Manager

Are you ready to advance your career in project management? We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee a variety of projects for TSP Engineering across multiple sectors. This role involves being the primary contact for clients and ensuring the successful execution of projects within the defined schedule, quality standards, and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, accurately interpreting their needs and ensuring they are reflected in project deliverables while fostering a positive working relationship throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and guide Assistant Project Managers, Project Planners, and technical teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Take ownership of project delivery, ensuring adherence to time, cost, and quality standards in line with the Business Management Systems.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and seize opportunities to resolve issues impacting project delivery.
  • Utilize Product Breakdown Structures (PBS), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) to define project deliverables effectively.
  • Regularly review project schedules and budgets, implementing effective change control processes throughout the project duration.
  • Provide assurance to all stakeholders, including senior management and clients, regarding the project's health and progress.
  • Manage relationships with internal teams and subcontractors, proactively addressing technical, programmatic, safety, and commercial project requirements.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication throughout the project.
  • Contribute to the bidding process for multi-disciplinary projects by providing resource and cost/time estimates.
  • Engage in proactive client management while maintaining a broad perspective on project objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and timely release of Quality Plans, Bills of Materials for procurement, and work instructions.

Qualifications / Experience Required / Personal Attributes

Qualifications:

  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is essential.
  • Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent practical experience in Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
  • Skills & Experience:
  • Proven track record in project management with experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects through all phases.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, estimating, risk identification, and management processes across diverse teams.
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with client contracts and specifications.
  • Experience managing projects with budgets exceeding £10m.
  • Background in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field.

The ideal candidate will possess strong practical skills and attention to detail. Previous experience in a Project Management role is essential, complemented by a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles.

Overall, the right candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility in work patterns, and a willingness to work additional hours as required by the business.
