We are currently seeking a qualified finance professional to join our Financial Control team at our European Head Office.

The Lead Financial Insights Analyst role is a commercially focused position that is integral to Financial Control at TJX Europe, providing support and delivering insights to the Buying and Merchandising functions, which are central to our off-price business model.

Our off-price strategy requires us to purchase opportunistically, making the management of cash flow and liquidity essential for our business's success.

The primary objective of the Buying Analysis team is to collaborate with Buying leaders to establish liquidity targets that ensure our merchandise sales and inventory plans are achieved. We conduct weekly reviews of liquidity and open-to-buy metrics with the Buying team, offering transparency regarding orders placed by our buyers and the generated Markon.

This role involves high-level collaboration across our Buying and Merchandising functions, producing various periodic and ad hoc performance reports to facilitate informed decision-making that aligns with our overall business objectives.

Additionally, the position requires interaction with other teams within Financial Control, as well as Commercial Planning and Logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advance our data management objectives, modernizing our approach using tools such as Alteryx and Power BI for insightful reporting.
  • Conduct ad hoc scenario analyses on liquidity and open-to-buy positions to identify risks and opportunities that support management decisions.
  • Engage in regular business partnering with Buying Managers and Directors.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from Buying Managers, Directors, and Senior Finance Management as needed.
  • Prepare and present business performance insights at various conferences and team meetings.
  • Streamline processes and simplify Excel models to enhance efficiency, allowing the financial control function to focus on value-added activities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the complex TJX business model, addressing inquiries from Buying and Senior Finance management.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in maintaining and developing financial models; advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Strong data modeling capabilities; comfortable synthesizing insights from large data sets.
  • Ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Skilled in building relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in influencing senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of evaluating situations and making recommendations beyond mere reporting.
  • Flexible and willing to extend beyond defined responsibilities.
  • Adept at multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the retail sector is advantageous.
