Job Title: Trainee Advanced Surgical Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Trainee Advanced Surgical Practitioner to join our team at NHS. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our surgical services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Undertake structured surgeries, working autonomously to assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions.
  • Be a training and mentoring resource for peers and hosted trainees, sharing your expertise and knowledge to support their growth and development.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.
  • Manage daily surgeries, comprising face-to-face consultations, home visits, and telephone consultations, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
  • Manage results and workflow in line with practice policy and procedures, maintaining accurate records and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Completed MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Level 7 V300 Non-Medical Prescribing or equivalent
  • Completed a minor ailment and injury module at BSc/MSc level
  • Evidence of PREP
Desirable Skills:
  • Several years post-registration experience
  • Experience of working in general practice
  • Experience in managing long-term conditions
  • Experience in management of diseases and undiagnosed health conditions
  • Experience in minor illness, clinical decisions, telephone triage
  • Experience of working autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team as a key player
