Position Overview

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, your primary focus will be on managing the financial and operational elements of a diverse supplier portfolio. You will become a vital member of our dynamic Commercial Teams, engaging in a wide range of projects valued between £25k and £200M.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial management of a supplier portfolio operating under a SoR-based contract.
  • Provide guidance to project stakeholders on commercial matters.
  • Support senior colleagues during monthly commercial discussions.
  • Calculate and communicate the monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) to the finance partner.
  • Assist in resolving disputes and managing contractual claims.
  • Oversee the evaluation and certification of monthly Applications for Payments (AFP).
  • Facilitate subcontractor payments using SAP and Salesforce.
Location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with your base location determined by your proximity to the nearest Thames Water site.

Qualifications and Skills
  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in Quantity Surveying within a commercial environment.
  • Desirable experience in Commercial Administration or Quantity Surveying in the construction industry.
  • Prior engagement with suppliers and contractors in a customer capacity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels.
  • Attention to detail and strong numeracy skills.
  • Excellent written communication abilities.
  • A driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
