Position: Quantity Surveyor Manager

Location: Reading - Hybrid Working (2 days On-Site)

Compensation: £550 per day (inside IR35)

Overview: We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor Manager to provide internal support across our Commercial and Procurement divisions, focusing on large-scale and intricate infrastructure initiatives.

Role Summary:

As a pivotal link between the Commercial and Procurement teams and their suppliers, you will enhance accountability and performance by meticulously reviewing contract execution against obligations and overseeing all financial aspects related to construction and civil engineering ventures. Your involvement will span from initial estimations to final accounts, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. You will maintain clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee project budgets, estimates, and financial plans.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and cost evaluations.
  • Negotiate agreements and manage procurement activities.
  • Evaluate, value, and authorize variations and change requests.
  • Track and report on project status, expenses, and financial projections.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in quantity surveying within the construction sector.
  • Demonstrated success in managing costs for large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, CATO, etc.).
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
