Job Description

**Job Title:** Commercial Quantity Surveyor

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our Logistics Management Centre, you will be responsible for providing commercial advice and support to our local operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial advice and support to local operational teams
  • Assess and resolve claims over £200,000
  • Manage commercial aspects of sub-areas, including North East London Waste Networks
  • Carry out site measurements and produce month-end valuation documentation
  • Ensure Thames Water meets all contractual, legal, and commercial obligations
  • Engage with and advise professional service colleagues, including Senior Management Accountants and Operations Managers
  • Manage a team of 2 FTE and provide commercial guidance to junior team members
  • Deliver efficiency savings to Thames Water of £1 million per annum
  • Safeguard Thames Water against claims over £1 million per annum

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Experience of commercial responsibility over £3 million
  • Experience in resolving claims over £200,000
  • Experience engaging at the local management level
  • Site measurement experience
  • Working towards gaining Chartered status
  • Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have access to a car

What We Offer:

  • Up to £52,000 per annum depending on experience and skills
  • 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays)
