Role Overview

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will take charge of the commercial and operational dimensions of a range of suppliers. Joining one of our dynamic and growing Commercial Teams, you will have the chance to engage in diverse projects valued between £25k and £200M.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial management of a supplier portfolio operating under a SoR-based contract.
  • Provide guidance to project stakeholders on commercial matters.
  • Support senior colleagues during monthly commercial discussions.
  • Calculate and communicate the monthly VOWD status to the business finance partner.
  • Assist in resolving disputes.
  • Support the management of contractual claims.
  • Oversee the evaluation and certification of monthly Applications for Payments (AFP).
  • Process subcontractor payments using SAP & Salesforce.
Location
This is a hybrid position based within the Thames Water region, with the base location determined by your proximity to the nearest Thames Water site.

Qualifications and Skills
  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in Quantity Surveying within a commercial environment.
  • Desirable experience in Commercial Administration or QS within the construction industry.
  • Previous experience interacting with suppliers and contractors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good numerical skills.
  • Excellent written communication abilities.
  • A driving license is preferred but not mandatory.

  • 24 days of annual leave, increasing to 28 with service duration (plus public holidays).
  • Travel required 1-2 times weekly (subject to business needs) for site audits, contractor meetings, and site engagement.
