About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Educator to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and education to healthcare professionals in the field of Paediatric Long Term Ventilation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals to increase their competence in caring for children and young people requiring Long Term Ventilation.
  • Work closely with the Programme team, Clinical Leads, and multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure the effective design, delivery, and sustainable implementation of LTV Skills across the North Thames Paediatric Network.
  • Identify training and development needs of multidisciplinary clinical teams and develop resources to support education and training.
  • Provide motivation, mentoring, and coaching to healthcare professionals to increase their confidence and competence.
  • Support the North Thames Paediatric Network team in providing regular online or face-to-face teaching and training sessions to support clinical work streams.
  • Assist in maintaining a Risk log and disseminating learning from risks/incidents across the Pan Thames region.
  • Develop and maintain the Education content for the Pan Thames Website for both professionals and parents/carers.
  • Regularly produce reports related to training and education across the network for the Programme Board, Commissioner work stream reports, network trusts, etc.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level, and active professional registration as an allied health professional or practitioner psychologist.
  • Experience of caring for children and young people requiring Long Term Ventilation.
  • Significant post-registration experience within the speciality.
  • Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating educational resources/training sessions/programs and working with other educators.
  • Experience of involvement in educational initiatives.
  • Experience of working within multi-professional teams and across sites.
Desirable Criteria
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching/supervising/assessing clinicians in practice.
  • Knowledge of local, regional, and national policies pertaining to practice experience and education.
