As a Trainee Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will embark on a comprehensive three-year Level 3 program, guided by a dedicated mentor and supported by our college partner, to gain expertise in servicing, repairing, and conducting LOLER inspections on our extensive range of hire equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire skills in performing routine servicing and maintenance of all hire equipment under the mentorship of an experienced technician.
  • Collaborate with your mentor to identify and procure necessary spare parts for efficient machine repairs.
  • Utilize on-site Kanban systems to ensure that equipment remains available for hire.
  • Work alongside your mentor to assess equipment conditions and make recommendations regarding repairs, damages, and customer charges.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A strong desire to learn and develop in the mechanical and electrical engineering field.
  • A positive mindset, excellent problem-solving abilities, and strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to a three-year educational program away from home to achieve a qualification in plant maintenance.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and solid numerical skills.
  • Experience in manual handling is advantageous but not mandatory.

This role involves enrolling in the Level 3 Land-Based Service Engineer Apprenticeship program. To qualify, candidates must possess GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths (Grade 4 / C).
