Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the operations of Redwood Search. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and machinery within our facilities.

Duties

  • Working with our maintenance management system to optimize equipment performance.
  • Completing regular maintenance inspections, servicing, and repairs as necessary to prevent downtime.
  • Responding to equipment faults and plant issues at all company sites to ensure continuity of operations.
  • The fabrication and/or manufacture of components for maintenance repairs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Procuring maintenance spares and components with authorization from the Maintenance Manager.
  • Reporting equipment faults that may require external contractor involvement to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor to review and update the Works Maintenance Programme, ensuring all machinery and plant is inspected annually.
  • Conducting regular inspections of grounds, factory, security, and general building maintenance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Awareness of subcontract maintenance visits and assisting as necessary.
  • Positioning plant and machines in factory areas to optimize workflow and efficiency.
  • Responding to equipment faults at customer site installations when requested.
  • Adhering to responsibilities outlined in the Quality Control Manual and procedures to meet BS EN ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Providing assistance to other departments as needed to support business operations.
  • Ensuring the safety, security, and integrity of all plant, equipment, facilities, and processes at all times.
  • Developing and maintaining a critical equipment database to inform maintenance decisions.
  • Participating in Operations coordination meetings and agreeing on work schedules and priorities with managers and directors.
  • Assuming key holder responsibilities, including locking up and security duties.

Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including maintenance planning and Microsoft tools.
  • Apprentice-trained or City & Guilds qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with industry experience.
  • High degree of self-motivation to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong team work ethos, collaborating with Engineering, Production, and Quality Management functions.
