Position Overview

The Commercial team plays a crucial role in managing budgets and tracking expenses associated with construction initiatives. This team is responsible for sourcing necessary services and resources, negotiating costs with suppliers, and overseeing project timelines to ensure adherence to deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

As an integral member of the team, your duties will include:

  • Responding to client inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborating with Credit Control to facilitate timely cash receipt management.
  • Supporting the preparation of orders for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assisting in the preparation of client payment applications, verifying and processing invoices, payment certificates, and pay-less notices.
  • Helping the team compile monthly statutory reports.
  • Maintaining project databases to ensure proper documentation and report organization.
  • Preparing for and participating in regular departmental meetings.
  • Providing support with general office tasks and daily commercial activities.

Qualifications

To qualify for this apprenticeship program, candidates should possess:

  • 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C/4-9, including English and Mathematics.
  • Basic proficiency in IT.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A commitment to embodying the company's values throughout work and studies.
  • Motivation and dedication to successfully complete the apprenticeship program.

Additional Information

As a Business Administration Apprentice at United Living, you will engage in meaningful work while pursuing a nationally recognized qualification. You will receive professional inspiration and support from a network of experienced colleagues as you lay the groundwork for a career in the construction industry.


To ease your transition into the role, you will be paired with a buddy from our apprentice group, who can offer valuable insights from their own experiences. Additionally, you will have a dedicated mentor to guide you throughout your apprenticeship, ensuring your professional growth and success.


During your apprenticeship, you will enroll in the Business Administration Level 3 qualification through one of our training partners. You will receive comprehensive support through various methods, including remote learning sessions, educational materials, and one-on-one assistance from your tutor or coach, who will meet regularly with you and your line manager to monitor your progress.
