Position Overview

This role is situated within the King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, encompassing multiple healthcare facilities.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team providing anaesthetic services, supporting the on-call rotations alongside scheduled elective procedures. The on-call responsibilities alternate every quarter between general and obstetric anaesthesia, with each rotation comprising a group of ten anaesthetists. The commitment includes two weeks of on-call duties followed by three weeks of standard daytime work.

All staff members are expected to be flexible and may be required to work across various sites within the Trust. Collaboration with clinical, medical, and managerial colleagues is essential to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with fellow professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care, including all treatment aspects and relevant management tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Care Group.

- Share the responsibility of providing continuous coverage for the Unit, ensuring 24/7 availability on a rotational basis. This includes covering for colleagues during their annual leave and unexpected absences.

- Engage in Multi-disciplinary Meetings to foster teamwork and communication.

- Contribute to clinical audits and governance initiatives to enhance service quality.

- Manage outpatient clinic responsibilities at peripheral hospitals as coordinated with the Care Group management.

- Participate in research activities aligned with the Trust's research and development framework.

- Work alongside clinical and other professional colleagues to maintain staff productivity and enhance job satisfaction, which may involve participation in peer appraisal processes.

- Adhere to all Trust policies regarding infection prevention and control, including hand hygiene and environmental cleanliness.

- Prepare for and execute protective interventions responsibly, adhering to evidence-based practices to ensure patient safety.
