Position Overview

We invite applications for the role of Clinical Fellow in Urology, a fixed-term position designed for a duration of 12 months. The successful candidate will engage in a comprehensive range of clinical activities within the Urology department, contributing to both inpatient and outpatient care.

The Urology Department is integral to the healthcare services provided, offering extensive emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality services, particularly for patients with oncological needs. We have a history of pioneering innovative surgical techniques and aim to maintain our status as a leading center for ambulatory and short-stay surgical care.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Fellow will be expected to:

  • Participate in outpatient clinics and provide routine inpatient care as directed.
  • Assist in managing specialized clinics, including those focused on haematuria and prostate assessments.
  • Engage in the emergency on-call rota, ensuring readiness to respond to urgent clinical situations.
  • Support surgical teams in operating theatres, with responsibilities for both inpatient and outpatient procedures.
  • Coordinate urgent theatre slots for urological emergencies, ensuring optimal patient preparation.

Additionally, attendance at departmental meetings, including the Urology Multidisciplinary Meeting and Academic Meetings, is expected. The role also includes opportunities for teaching and personal development.
