Position: Senior Buyer/Buyer - Contract Role

Location: On-site, Automotive Sector

Contract Type: Ongoing

The Country Buyer serves as the primary liaison for operational facilities regarding all matters related to the supply chain. This role encompasses a variety of operational responsibilities. Collaborating closely with the Commodity Buyer, who oversees the supplier panel, strategic initiatives, and budget compliance, the Country Buyer plays a crucial role in ensuring supply chain efficiency.

This position involves supporting manufacturing plants in identifying supply chain vulnerabilities and executing strategies to mitigate potential disruptions. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for managing in-sourcing and outsourcing processes, authorizing parts and suppliers, and pinpointing cost-saving measures and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Price Management: Handle blocked invoices, oversee price adjustments in SAP, and coordinate with the accounting department.
  • Supply Chain Support: Assist the logistics team in addressing any supply chain issues or risks.
  • Scope Changes: Facilitate scope modifications, in-sourcing, outsourcing, and relocations.

As a Senior Buyer, your duties will include:

  • Leading efforts to resolve supply bottlenecks.
  • Managing and negotiating price increase requests.
  • Coordinating the supplier payment process.
  • Identifying savings opportunities with plants and advocating for technical savings proposed by suppliers.
  • Preparing and presenting pre-RFQ and sourcing strategies during the serial production phase.
  • Implementing Nomination Letters in Serial Production.
  • Managing excess materials between suppliers and manufacturing plants.
  • Ensuring a smooth transition of purchasing responsibilities from program to serial phase for each project.
  • Implementing engineering changes throughout the serial life cycle.
  • Overseeing mandated parts and suppliers.

Candidate Profile:

  • Preferably degree qualified or a minimum of HND (CIPS qualification is advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in PC usage; SAP knowledge is a plus but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a self-driven, results-focused approach.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
