Procurement Support Specialist

Brown & Holmes is seeking a dedicated Procurement Support Specialist to enhance our proficient team.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role is primarily office-based and encompasses a variety of responsibilities:

  • Supplier Sourcing: Identify and procure necessary goods and services from our established supplier network.
  • New Supplier Evaluation: Assess and approve potential suppliers in accordance with our internal protocols while ensuring compliance with client specifications.
  • Supplier Analysis: Evaluate and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Purchase Order Management: Generate purchase orders utilizing our MRP system.
  • Order Tracking: Monitor the progress of purchase orders to guarantee adherence to requested delivery schedules.
  • Supplier Communication: Maintain regular contact with suppliers to foster strong working relationships.
  • Performance Assessment: Evaluate supplier performance using the company scorecard methodology.
  • Issue Escalation: Report any supplier-related concerns to the Procurement Manager.
  • Administrative Support: Perform additional administrative tasks as directed by the Procurement Manager.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess experience in procurement functions within a dynamic environment. Familiarity with purchasing in an engineering context is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong computer and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to conduct thorough internet research to locate specialized items based on defined criteria. Effective time management and confident decision-making abilities are crucial. The candidate should be adept at problem-solving and capable of juggling multiple tasks while maintaining meticulous attention to detail to meet the diverse needs of stakeholders.
