Position: Senior Buyer / Purchasing Specialist
Location: On-site, Automotive Sector
Contract Type: Ongoing
The Senior Buyer serves as the primary liaison for operational facilities regarding all matters related to the supply chain. This role encompasses a variety of operational responsibilities. Collaborating closely with the Commodity Buyer, who oversees the supplier panel, strategic initiatives, and budgetary goals, the Senior Buyer plays a critical role in the procurement process.
In this capacity, the Senior Buyer aids manufacturing plants in identifying supply chain vulnerabilities and executing strategies to mitigate potential disruptions. The ideal candidate will also oversee in-sourcing and outsourcing projects, mandate supplier engagements, and pinpoint opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Price Management: Address blocked invoices, manage price adjustments in the SAP system, and coordinate with the finance department.
- Supply Chain Support: Assist the logistics team in resolving any supply chain-related issues or risks.
- Scope Management: Facilitate scope adjustments, in-sourcing, outsourcing, and relocations.
As a Senior Buyer, you will:
- Lead initiatives to resolve supply bottlenecks.
- Negotiate and manage requests for price adjustments.
- Oversee the supplier payment workflow.
- Identify and promote cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with plants.
- Prepare and present pre-RFQ and sourcing documentation during the serial production phase.
- Implement Nomination Letters in the serial production process.
- Manage excess inventory between suppliers and manufacturing facilities.
- Ensure a seamless transition of purchasing responsibilities from program to serial production for each project.
- Implement engineering modifications during the serial production lifecycle.
- Oversee mandated components and supplier relationships.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree qualified or minimum HND (CIPS qualification is a plus but not mandatory).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in PC applications; SAP knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
