Our comprehensive Trenching and Shoring division provides a diverse range of equipment for the construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors, facilitating the installation of trench boxes and related tools such as chain slings, manhole lifters, ladders, lifting pins, manhole chain clamps, and counterbalanced davit systems.

As the initial point of contact for our branches, Hire & Sales Coordinators (HSC) are crucial to our operational success. They foster robust customer relationships, comprehend their hiring requirements, and ensure we can fulfill them effectively.

This role is dynamic, fast-paced, and rewarding, offering an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth within GAP Group.

A typical day for a Hire & Sales Coordinator includes:

  • Handling all administrative tasks related to the hire desk, including inquiries from customers and suppliers.
  • Managing a variety of incoming and outgoing hires daily.
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels to satisfy customer demand and optimize sales opportunities.
  • Coordinating with the depot team of drivers and fitters to ensure efficient vehicle loading.
  • Addressing customer complaints and supplier issues promptly and effectively.

Ideal candidates should possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in a high-volume hire desk environment is essential.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on driving sales.
  • Strong communication abilities paired with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with MS Office applications such as Outlook and Excel.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • While a background in plant hire is advantageous, a genuine passion for customer service and a willingness to learn are equally important.
