Underwriting Operations Technician

Role Summary
This position is situated within the Underwriting Operations Team and is essential for the success of the Direct Underwriting Department. The primary objective is to deliver administrative support across all Underwriting Teams, ensuring smooth operations and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, distribute, and mail Certificates/Endorsements related to business produced under Bell & Clements In-House Facilities, ensuring Contract Certainty.
- Process relevant accounting information for individual risks onto Bell & Clements insurance/Munich Re systems.
- Maintain records on internal document management and workflow monitoring systems (e.g., Imageright/Brokers Risk Analysis).
- Update and maintain Agents' Surplus Lines Licence details.
- Handle processing under the PolicyFly system.
- Manage robotics exceptions and correct temp table validation errors.
- Log quotes for the underwriting teams and prepare renewals.
- Assist in resolving accounting/bordereau queries related to entries processed under In-House Facilities.
- Liaise with Clients and Underwriters regarding Certificate/Endorsement production.
- Support the training of fellow Technicians within the Underwriting Operations Team.
- Engage in all areas of the Direct Underwriting Department as needed.
- Attend regular Underwriting Operations Team meetings and broader departmental meetings as required.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties within the In-House Underwriting Department as necessary.
- Maintain awareness of FCA, Lloyd's, and other overseas regulatory rules, including Data Protection, Financial Crime, and US Surplus Lines regulations.
- Understand TCF and Contract Certainty regulations and Conduct Risk.
- Actively implement the core principles of Continuous Conversations; focusing on Commitments, Feedback, and Development.

- Establish and achieve development aspirations through commitments and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of Bell & Clements.
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Show flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Possess essential MS Office skills; knowledge of insurance/broking systems is a plus.
- General office experience and/or exposure to the insurance industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
