Position Overview

Job Title: Engineering Project Coordinator – Governance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and refining components of the engineering operational framework and governance structure, including policies and procedures for the design and development phases.
  • Establishing an internal assurance framework to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Collaborating with the Airworthiness Team to facilitate design organization approvals and the assignment of technical roles.
  • Serving as a primary liaison for engineering governance between the joint business entity and the UK industry Lead Systems Integrator.
  • Partnering closely with the COO Central Engineering Governance team to exchange best practices and provide support.
  • Overseeing a small team of engineers, ensuring effective task management and performance evaluation.

Required Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Engineering Governance within Defence programs.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing engineering processes, tools, and methodologies that align with governance standards.
  • Previous experience in managing a small team, including task management and performance assessments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with engineering governance principles, ideally acquired from multiple domains.
  • Experience collaborating with external customers, such as government defense organizations.

About the Team:

This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer specializing in Engineering Governance to join a dynamic team focused on the Global Combat Air Programme/Future Combat Air System Acquisition Programme.

As part of the programme integration team, you will play a crucial role in supporting UK industry and international partners in the development and implementation of the Engineering Operating Framework and Governance System.

The ideal candidate will be proactive and collaborative, possessing strong communication skills to effectively convey Engineering Governance concepts to both specialists and non-specialists. This position offers a unique chance to engage with a groundbreaking programme at its inception and to represent BAE Systems and UK Industry on a global platform, contributing to the sustainability of the Nation's Industrial Air Sector.
