Our client, a distinguished insurer specializing in motor insurance, is seeking a Head of IT Operations to lead their technology initiatives.

Role Overview:
The Head of IT Operations will play a pivotal role in transforming the technological landscape of a traditional insurance firm. This position is crucial for driving innovation and implementing modern methodologies within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and technology roadmap to facilitate the company's growth and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the transition of the IT function from the Finance Department to a standalone department, ensuring direct reporting to the CEO.
  • Oversee the consolidation of IT teams and third-party vendors into a cohesive unit, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Manage IT budgets, expenditures, and the overall interaction between IT and business operations.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • Proven ability to act as a technology advocate, effectively communicating with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing a diverse IT department, including software development and support teams.
  • Background in insurance, insuretech, financial services, or fintech is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the capacity to influence and guide the organization beyond technical matters.

Work Environment:
This role is based in the London headquarters, with a flexible working model that allows for a hybrid approach, enabling employees to work remotely for the majority of the week.
