About the Role

Caroline Gardner Publishing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Officer and Office Manager to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support on HR policies and procedures, as well as implementing new HR initiatives and systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing HR administration support, including maintaining employee records and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
  • Coordinating the recruitment process, including preparing job descriptions, posting ads, and conducting interviews.
  • Developing and implementing effective onboarding procedures for new hires.
  • Supporting the handling of disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Monitoring absences and supporting managers on absence management procedures.
  • Ensuring all relevant payroll documents are processed in a timely manner each month.
  • Managing employee data and documents in HR software.
  • Assisting with the coordination and organisation of team member events and meetings.

As an Office Manager, you will be responsible for general office administration, including ordering office supplies and consumables, booking travel for employees, and creating and sending out internal employee communications.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or higher national diploma, at least two years' experience in HR or a related field, and a basic understanding of UK employment legislation. Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of HRMS would be an advantage.

We offer a competitive salary banding of £32,000 - £37,000, study support, discretionary bonus scheme, hybrid working, and 23+1 days annual leave, long service extra holiday days.
