Role Summary:

Become a vital member of the Information Rights Operations team at UKRI, where we are dedicated to maintaining compliance with Data Protection laws, the Freedom of Information Act, and Environmental Information Regulations. Collaborate closely with the Head of Information Rights Operations to oversee, coordinate, and deliver expert guidance on international funding initiatives, ensuring UKRI meets its legal responsibilities under data protection regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer guidance and support on the management of personal data, including data sharing and transfers pertinent to UKRI’s international endeavors, while advising on effective data management strategies, controls, and associated risks.
  • Establish frameworks and protocols with key international collaborators, addressing the overarching data requirements relevant to various activities.
  • Oversee and assist in the investigation of any data protection incidents that may arise in relation to international funding initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of information rights training, onboarding, and awareness programs in support of international funding activities.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Data Protection or equivalent experience in a complex organizational setting.
  • Proven experience in delivering specialized support in information rights to key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide advice to projects and business transformation initiatives, ensuring compliance with information rights policies.
  • A strong track record of fostering collaborative working relationships within a team and with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality written and verbal guidance suitable for all staff levels, including senior decision-makers.
