Information Security Team Leader

Opportunity Overview
As the Cybersecurity Operations Head, you will spearhead a dedicated team of Cybersecurity Engineers and Analysts tasked with executing security engineering and operational functions within The Openwork Partnership, contributing to a broader Information Security initiative.
Your leadership will be pivotal in safeguarding the organization’s information systems and infrastructure against cyber threats, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical data.
The team plays a vital role in the continuous operation and enhancement of Cyber and Information Security frameworks, implementing security policies, standards, and procedures while collaborating with various departments to secure the organization’s information assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Exhibit effective management to identify and enhance capability maturity levels. Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports while mentoring and supporting team member growth.
- Incident Response Management: Oversee the security incident response framework, ensuring prompt resolution and mitigation of security incidents and breaches.
- Security Engineering Oversight: Lead the security engineering function, proficiently managing security toolsets to deliver protection and analytical insights.
- Operational Security Controls: Implement and govern operational controls to protect company information assets from unauthorized access and threats.
- Stakeholder Communication: Ensure key stakeholders are engaged and informed regarding security incidents and risk mitigation efforts.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Manage relationships with key suppliers, including the managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) service, identifying improvement opportunities.
- Vulnerability Management: Execute the Vulnerability Management Program to proactively identify and address risks.
- Threat Intelligence Delivery: Provide focused Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) products and develop an intelligence-led Threat Hunting capability.
- Security Testing Coordination: Facilitate a comprehensive program of security testing, risk assessments, and audits to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Risk Management Leadership: Lead the identification, prioritization, and treatment of technology and information security risks, supporting effective oversight of risk management frameworks.
- Reporting and Evaluation: Establish and monitor security operations, providing professional evaluations and highlighting associated risks.
- Threat Awareness: Stay informed about emerging threats and devise strategies to protect systems.
- Policy Development: Assist in the creation and implementation of security policies and standards to safeguard information systems.
- Business Change Engagement: Participate in Change Assessment processes to evaluate risks and maintain awareness of business changes impacting information security.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Information/Cyber Security.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or vendor-specific security qualifications are preferred.
- Proven management experience across various cybersecurity domains.
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of information security principles and practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing security incidents and vendor relationships.
- Experience in conducting audits and risk assessments in complex environments.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in financial services is advantageous.
