International Senior Manager of Information Rights

Salary: £43,116

Hours: Full time (Flexible working arrangements available)

Contract Type: Fixed Term (12 months)

Location: Hybrid working available, with the ability to travel to the office when needed

Join the proactive Information Rights Operations team at UKRI, where we play a vital role in ensuring compliance with Data Protection legislation, the Freedom of Information Act, and Environmental Information Regulations. Collaborating closely with the Head of Information Rights Operations, you will oversee, coordinate, and provide expert guidance on international funding initiatives to assist UKRI in fulfilling its legal responsibilities under data protection laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer guidance and support on the management of personal data, including data sharing and transfers pertinent to UKRI's international operations, advising on suitable strategies for data management, controls, and risks.
  • Establish frameworks and protocols with key international partners, addressing the overarching data requirements relevant to various activities.
  • Oversee and assist in the investigation of any data protection incidents that may arise concerning international funding initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of information rights training, orientations, and awareness programs in support of international funding activities.
About You
  • Relevant qualifications in Data Protection or comparable experience in these areas within a complex organization.
  • Proven experience in providing specialized support in information rights to key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise on projects and business change initiatives, ensuring compliance and alignment with information rights policies.
  • A strong track record of fostering collaborative working relationships within a team and with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality written and verbal advice suitable for all staff levels, including senior decision-makers.
