About the Role

This position offers a 12-month maternity cover opportunity with potential for secondment. As a Band 7 Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role within our Cumberland Infirmary team. You will have the chance to contribute your expertise and make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

  • Leadership & Management:
    • Lead and inspire the acute occupational therapy team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
    • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior therapists, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.
    • Manage service delivery in acute inpatient areas, optimizing resource allocation and patient flow.
  • Clinical Expertise:
    • Assess and treat complex patients with a wide range of conditions, utilizing your advanced clinical skills and knowledge.
    • Act as a clinical specialist, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues on complex cases.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines within the department.
  • Quality & Improvement:
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services that meet national standards and patient expectations.
    • Support change management initiatives, embracing innovation and continuous improvement within the service.
    • Provide cross cover to the neuro team, demonstrating your versatility and commitment to providing comprehensive care.
