Occupational Therapist, Clinical Education and Practice Development Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Clinical Education and Practice Development Specialist. As a key member of our Allied Health Professions (AHP) educator team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting, training, and developing the new and existing Occupational Therapy workforce in North Cumbria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Clinical Competence: Provide expert clinical knowledge to support clinical development and ensure high-quality training and education.
- Pastoral Support: Offer guidance and support to overseas recruits during the recruitment, appointment, induction, and preceptorship periods.
- Workforce Integration: Collaborate with OT Leads to ensure newly appointed or promoted staff are integrated smoothly into the workforce and new roles.
- Professional Development: Support the development and postgraduate study towards extended scope and Advanced Practice.
- Communities of Practice: Create and lead Communities of Practice across the system for support staff to guide career development opportunities.
- Learning Environments: Develop and lead on the development of appropriate learning environments, training, and internal progression periods.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other Educators, attend Educator Forums, and link with the AHP Faculty and council to maximize relevant opportunities.
- Policies and Guidelines: Contribute to developing policies, guidelines, and scope of practice.
- Professional Staying Current: Stay current with national initiatives supporting the education and development of the OT profession.
