Clinical Neurology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Neurology Specialist to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our medical education team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering teaching programs for medical students.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Subject Lead for Neurology, working closely with academic leads and clinical colleagues to formulate and implement a plan for the delivery of subject teaching within Medical Sciences module.
- Develop and curate high-quality teaching materials across various teaching and learning modalities, reflecting the conditions and presentations that students will need to recognize for the Medical Licensing Assessment.
- Work closely with other teaching leads and development teams to ensure close integration of medical science, anatomy, and clinical skills and reasoning teaching within the subject.
- Develop formative and summative assessments based on the learning materials generated, aligned to and reflective of the questions students will encounter in the relevant aspects of Medical Licensing Assessment.
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of content and delivery, ensuring a uniform experience for students across multiple sites.
- Contribute to the wider delivery of medical school activities, such as admissions, tutoring, and assessment and feedback.
- Review and respond promptly to feedback from all sources, including student surveys, staff-student committees, and external examiners.
- Work as a practising clinician, embedded in the relevant clinical service within the trust.
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council.
- MRCP or equivalent.
- MD or PhD degree.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Neurology via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview).
- Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers, and other staff.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
- Experience of working with primary care/community colleagues.
- A commitment to and experience of teaching.
- Experience of structured patient education.
- A sub-speciality Neurology interest.
- Specialist Registrar in Neurology or Equivalent.
