Department: Financial Assessments and Benefits Service

The Financial Assessments and Benefits Service is currently enhancing its resources and refining its processes. This team operates within the Adult Social Care Financial Support Service, delivering a range of essential services for adults in need of care.

  • Conducting financial evaluations to determine individual contributions towards their care service packages.
  • Providing guidance and information regarding care service fees.
  • Offering assistance and advice on claiming various welfare benefits managed by the Department of Work and Pensions.
  • Issuing invoices for care service fees.

We are seeking to recruit two Financial Benefits and Assessment Specialists.

The primary responsibilities include performing financial evaluations and ensuring that individuals are claiming all applicable DWP benefits. This role involves delivering advice and support concerning client contributions, benefit applications, and the relevant charging policies and procedures. Communication can occur through various channels, including postal correspondence, telephone, email, or in-person meetings.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to contribute to the growth of our team and the services we provide. Candidates should have experience in a financial environment, possess strong numerical abilities, and be capable of interpreting complex regulations and policies to make informed decisions.

The ideal applicant will demonstrate effective prioritization and management of their workload to meet strict deadlines, alongside exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Proficiency in standard office IT applications, including MS Office, is essential.

Standard working hours are 37 hours per week, aligned with the typical business working week. An Agile Working policy is in place, allowing for some flexibility in work location.
